Virtual Box error:

This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot – please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

My day really sucked when I came across this. By going through net I understood this can be because of my settings in virtual box.I tried enabling all the stuff in virtual box, nothing worked. For the latest installation you can go through youtube latest videos.
Finally understood my problem is  Virtualization  technology in BIOS which I should enable.
With that everything worked so fine.
So when you get this error my first suggestion is to go to BIOS option.
To go to BIOS press escape at the time of restart. When you go into BIOS, check the options for virtualization technology which should be enabled. Enable it and it can solve your problem in most of the cases unless the options you selected or the OS you selected in virtual box are wrong.
Hope this solves your problem, enjoy.. :D
